More Local Councils Axing Pest Control Services

Residents of the Wrexham area of North Wales recently learned that their local council had decided to abolish its pest control programme. From April of this year (2015), the council will no longer provide service for private properties and non-council housing. The council will continue treating public property and some council-owned homes; it says the decision is rooted in trying to reduce spending by some £45 million.

Although customers within the Pest Control Services’ Berkshire service area are not affected by the Wrexham decision, we bring this to your attention just to illustrate that more and more councils are abolishing their pest control programmes. As the Wrexham council points out, there are enough private pest control companies to handle the needs of property owners. It is not in their best interests to continue spending money on something the private sector already provides.
